Los Angeles film shoots decline by 56%

…This year, only five major movies, defined as those with a budget of $75m or more, are being produced in Los Angeles, compared with 21 films last year and 71 in 1996.

…Canada was one of the first locations to introduce incentives such as rebates and tax-free loans to encourage film-makers to move their productions there.

Now more than 40 US states, including New York, New Mexico, Wisconsin and Connecticut, have their own programmes.
