Film Adaptation of Spring Awakening

bd61.jpgToronto — Film and music-video director McG, the man behind the camera for the forthcoming Terminator Salvation, is in discussions about directing and producing a film adaptation of the hit musical Spring Awakening, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

McG is reportedly developing the project in tandem with Steven Sater, the writer of the musical’s original book and lyrics.

McG recently shot a pilot drama for ABC entitled Limelight, which chronicles young dancers, musicians and actors auditioning for a spot at a performing-arts school in New York. One of the young faces on set for Limelight was 21-year-old Canadian Kyle Riabko, who plays the role of Melchior Gabor in the touring production of Spring Awakening currently on stage at Toronto’s Canon Theatretheglobeandmail reports.
